lit quiz 2011

Brittaney and Jessica from room 9 are in the book club.They have just found out that they have made the lit quiz team. This is when all schools from Manawatu compete in a competition where they have to answer questions about books. Also this year we are going up againest intermediate and primery kids.Also this year it is extremly nerve racking for new two new kids Jessica (rm9) Brittaney (rm9) because they have never done any thing like this in there young lives. Right now we will get some comments from them "its so exciting!" said Brittaney  "I think this is not even real but then I found out it was, this is a great opportunity"Said Jessica.  

The day we went to Waiouru

Hi  I am  Isaac. On  May the 12th room 9 went to the army museum in Waiouru. I heard a safety talk by Mark, the education officer. We were told we had to stay together.
I saw lots of tanks and a bomb!

On Thursday 12 May we went to the National Army Museum in Waiouru. We learned lots about New Zealand's military history and got to take a tour around the camp.

Welcome back to Term 2. This term is going to be very busy with Prep, clubs, Jump Rope for Heart, and visits to the Marae!

Next week we are heading off to the Waiouru Military Museum! Our reading for the next fortnight will be based around the Anzacs, as we are learning to comprehend Non-fiction text.

Room 9 hope you have all had a refreshing break. We look forward to sharing our news, learning and upcoming events with you all. Please feel free to add comments/suggestions to our blog, we welcome and appreciate your support. Miss McFarlane is available for parent meetings after school at arranged times, to discuss any concerns or queries you may have. Swimming has already begun for us and we are off to a great start, with everyone remembering their togs! We are anticipating an exciting swimming sports, so stay tuned here or read the school newsletters for details about this. I am having a great time in room 9. I am in TUI the house that does not give up.I am looking forward to all the activities coming up in the year. As a year 5 I believe in myself. If I had to, I would eat a snake and a worm, I would not care.
