Before we left we were put into groups. My leader was Nikee. We also had to check if we had everything.
Then we walked on the bus to leave to the Marae.
When we arrived we got out our Aorangi Marae booklets and started to answer some of the questions in it. Then we went round to see the Hungi pit. Once we finished the outdoor activities we took our shoes off and walked into the Wharenui. When we went into the Wharenui we had to do the indoor activities and then we had to say our mihi's in front of the whole class! I was so embarrassed!!!
But after that we didn't have enough time to have a go at using the poi's so we grabbed all of our things then the teacher instructed everyone to hop on the bus so we could go back to school and work.
I enjoyed listening to everyone's mihi's when we were in the Wharenui and I also learned that the marae is not the building it's the grass in front of the building!
