Room 9 had a visit from Kelly from the Department of Conservation , to talk to us about how
to look after the beach and vegetation. She also talked about the sand dunes at the Manawatu
local beaches like Tangimoana, Himatangi and Foxton. The vegetation was interesting
because only at Tangimoana there's a little succulent only found there, it's not a New Zealand
flower ! And the other vegetation at New Zealand beaches are the Toetoe plant the Pingao plant , the spinifex plant [Tumbleweed] and most common, the marram grass.
We also experienced planting seeds and separating stalks with the hard ends( which means it has a seed in it) from the
ones that don't. PLEASE KEEP FROM DRIVING ON SAND DUNES!
Our W.A.L.T: (We are learning to..)
Respect our environment and keep it clean.
